Six Chinese Students Completes their Four Month Intensive Programme on Hausa Studies at Buk

Six Chinese students studied Hausa language in Bayero University Kano

Six Chinese Students from Beijing Foreign Studies University completed their four month intensive training on Hausa Studies at Centre for Research in Nigerian Language, Translation and Folklore (CRNL&T) of Bayero University, Kano.

The Students are Wu ziyan (Mainasara) Wang Zixian (Haira) Wang Kun Yuan (Gimbiya) Gong Yizhen (Salamatu) Wu Lin (Samira) and Yang Yutong (Marka). During the presentation of their Certifcate in Centres Board Room on Wednesday 11 December 2019 The Director of the Centre Professor Aliyu Muazu express his happiness for the successful completion of the course. He thanked the Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello for his support and assistance towards the success of the training.

Professor Mua'zu thanked the Department of Nigerian Languages and Department of Linguistic and Foreign Languages for their contributions. “I will also use this opportunity to say a very big Thank you to Wakilin Mutanen China a Kano Mr Mike Zang for the assistance he rendered to the students to make it easy for them during the programme”, the Director added. In his remark, the Wakilin Mutanen China a Kano, Mr Mike Zang, who served as special guest during the presentation of the certificate express his appreciation to the Centre for Research in Nigerian Languages in particular and BUK in general for the opportunity given to the six Chinese Students to pursue the course.

The Students under the leadership of Mr Zang paid a farewell visit to the Vice Chancellor in his office. In his Speech during the visit, the Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, solicited the cooperation and of Wakilin Mutanen China to the University in their effort to commence teaching of Mandarin in BUK.
